Community Impact

Impact of Twinning

The St. Catharines and Greater Niagara Twinning Association has three main pillars of impact that we operate under. These pillars are: Culture, Education, and Economic Development. We use these pillars of operation to guide what we do to achieve our mission. Activities that we enact may fall under one or more of these pillars.

  • Culture

    In the pillar of culture we have activities that share Trinidad and Caribbean culture throughout the Niagara Region. Many of these events are open to the public to attend.

    Twinning events may include:

    • Social hangouts (Limin')
    • Concerts/Festivals
    • Displays and participation in Parades etc.

  • Education

    In the education pillar, we strive to increase the knowledge of Trinidad and the Caribbean throughout the Niagara Region as well as supporting education in both Niagara and Trinidad.

    Some Twinning Education initiatives:

    • Brock University and Niagara College Bursaries
    • Educational events
    • Tradeshow booths
    • Educational displays

  • Economic Development

    The EcDev Pillar aims to create sustainable relationships between our regions of operation primarily, but not limited to areas of trade, tourism, industry, arts, sport and professional knowledge exchange.

    EcDev may be supported by:

    • Trade Mission Initiatives
    • Connecting Businesses
    • Supporting Research
    • Business Events
    • Connecting Service Clubs
